Meet the Athletic Trainer
Alyssa Wheeler - Riverside Prep Athletic Trainer
[email protected]
My name is Alyssa Wheeler and I am the full-time certified Athletic Trainer at Riverside Prep High School! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at California State University San Bernardino in 2011 and my Masters in Athletic Training at California Baptist University in 2014.
I am board certified and routinely attend National Athletic Training conferences to continue my education in the most recent evidence-based practices.
Before becoming an Athletic Trainer, I worked as a physical therapy assistant and as a gym sales associate. As a new graduate, I began working at an all-boys high school in La Verne for one year before becoming part of the Riverside Prep family and getting the amazing opportunity to work a lot closer to home in Hesperia!
I believe in utilizing a team approach to whole person care and am dedicated to making the injury process a smooth transition for student-athletes. Board-certified Athletic Trainers are trained in emergency response, evaluating and diagnosing injuries, injury prevention, developing rehabilitation programs, and managing concussion protocols. I absolutely love the fast-paced rigor of high school athletics and am proud to serve the student-athletes at Riverside Prep!
