1. What do you like most about going to Riverside Prep? What I like most about the school is that all of the teachers, no matter if you have an issue in school or out of school, they're always there to help you. If you're having trouble with your school work or something else, they're just always willing to help and that's something I didn't have at my previous school.
2. What's your favorite subject/teacher and why? My favorite subject is history and my favorite teacher is Mr. Humphreys. I've always been big into history, it's always been something I always wanted to study in school and Mr. Humphreys makes sure you understand and that you're not in the dark, so that you can succeed.
3. What do you like to do outside of school? My favorite hobby is to play hockey. I play roller hockey and I got into it because of my dad, who's really into hockey. I saw my first game at the Anaheim Pond and just started to like it right away.
4. What do you want to do after you graduate? I want to go to either Michigan State or one of the schools in Boston to play hockey.
Comment from Mr. Stover: Josh Alvis is an outstanding student. He is motivated and polite, and he also uses terrific metacognition skills that add to his self-discipline and respect.
