Dual Enrollment

DUAL ENROLLMENT Q&A

Q: What is Dual Enrollment?
A: Dual Enrollment offers high school students the opportunity to enroll in college courses and receive college credit while still pursuing their high school diploma. Riverside Prep offers Victor Valley College courses in a variety of disciplines and fields including general education and career pathway courses.  Students can take these courses at our high school or at the VVC campus.

Q: How does it benefit students?
A: Students are able to earn college credit while receiving high school credit at the same time. Students have the benefit of being able to take a college course on our campus and do not have to pay any fees for books or tuition. Students also benefit from being exposed early to the rigors of  college course work, while also completing college units ahead of time.

Q: What kinds of classes can students take?
A: Currently, we are offering general education and English courses for our juniors and seniors. We are working on a two-year plan that will allow students to see what classes we will be offering in the near future.

Q: Is it available to all students?
A: VVC classes are offered to juniors and seniors who meet our GPA requirements.

Q: How can students take part in dual enrollment?
A: Students and parents who are interested in dual enrollment are encouraged to speak with the counselors! During the Spring 2019 semester we will be talking with students who meet our minimum requirements and invite them to our parent information meeting.
