Leslie Mancilla

760-243-4136 ext. 209

My name is Leslie Mancilla and I am extremely excited to be a part of the Riverside Prep team here at RPHS!  I grew up in Los Angeles County and received my Counseling and Guidance degree from California State University, San Bernardino.  I have spent the last ten years working in educational settings as an instructional aide, substitute teacher and most recently in the counseling department at the community college level.

I truly enjoy working with high school students and assisting them in reaching their educational goals and helping to maximize their full academic potential.  I am here not only to support my students with maintaining satisfactory academic progress and developing educational plans, but also to help guide their social/emotional development.  I believe that every student has the ability to achieve success in the school setting as well as in their future goals!

My spare time is spent with my husband and family and taking adventurous hikes. Please do not hesitate to contact me for assistance. I am wishing everyone a great 2017-2018 school year!

Dane Redmond

I have been a part of the Oro Grande School District family for 7-years as teacher at both Mojave River Academy and Riverside Prep High School.  Prior to beginning my career in education, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Latin American Studies. My passion for Spanish led me to be a Spanish teacher.  After a few years of teaching Spanish, I decided I wanted to pursue a degree in Educational Counseling. I earned my Master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University and now serve as a counselor at RPHS!

I’m married to my best friend and have a baby boy.  Family is the most important thing to me and I try to spend as much time with them as possible.  Cycling is my favorite hobby and you’ll usually find me on Saturday mornings riding around the High Desert.

I believe that every student deserves to feel safe while at school and to have a healthy environment in which they can learn and grow.  In our counseling office we strive to help all students find academic success and to help them overcome any challenge that is preventing them from doing so.  We help them set goals that will lead them to success in both the present and future.
